GekkoScience NEWPAC (Dual BM1387) USB Miner – 23GH’s+ USB Miner (SHA256)
MADE IN USA
Due to rising costs of ASIC chips, we have been forced to increase our prices. Please know, that if the prices falls on ASIC chips, our price will also lower.
All products are tested for non-DOA and confirmed working.
If you run the miners over about 100MHz, use a cooling fan.
Actively cooled sticks will use less amperage than passively cooled ones.
Non cooled sticks are subject to thermal runaway where heat will trigger increased amperage draw increasing heat in a cycle until the unit fails.

Description
GekkoScience NEWPAC Dual BM1387 Stickminer
Features a pair of Bitmain BM1387 chips and a stock clock setting of 100MHz for 23GH
The units are capable of running at 90GH, and it’s theoretically possible to overclock to 130GH but this will require a strong hub and and advanced custom cooling setup. All units are tested at 45GH before shipping and run for a full hour before being labeled and packaged.
These units function though a modified cgminer, which gives you command-line frequency control to adjust the hashrate.
The new GekkoScience CGMiner is able to detect and recover from the same kind of issues which would have caused a “ZOMBIE” condition on the old 2Pac units, meaning increased reliability and less attention to maintain long-term operation. The stick is dimensionally identical to the 2Pac, so any custom hardware designed for one will work for the other. And of course it’s got BLINKY LIGHTS now showing that it is mining.
This entry level miner is good for anyone interested in tweaking and testing stuff, or for anyone wanting to “get into mining” without spending a lot of money or burning a lot of power. It’s designed as a flexible yet affordable tool to learn a lot about bitcoin mining and its hardware. While its small and doesn’t offer the same hashing power as the big pod systems, the GekkoScience NEWPAC is the most power efficient Bitcoin miner on the market today.
GekkoScience NEWPAC Dual BM1387 Stickminer USB Specifications:
- GekkoScience Compac NEWPAC is a USB miner containing 2 BM1387 core chips.
- Stock HashRate of 23 GHs w/ no external fan necessary.
- Highly adjustable clock speed allowing upwards of 45 GHs/second WARNING overclocking Voids Warranty AND REQUIRES external cooling.
Requires Official Custom CGMiner Build 4.11.1 available: Here
Official Bitcoin Forums – https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053833.0
The stock settings on the miner run them at 23 GHs using 100Mhz Frequency Setting.
There is absolutely no warranty on these miners when they are overclocked. All units are confirmed working before shipment (a confirmation will be included with the shipment. Improper overclocking can burning out the chip and voids the warranty. A restocking fee of 30% will be assessed for all returned units found to have been burned out by overclocking.

An ideal introduction to the world of ASIC mining. You can run these from stock USB2 volt/amp and without coolant you can still achieve in excess of 15GH/s. For the lowest possible investment outlay, these sticks possibly represent the best return on the market today.
As mentioned, without coolant you’d want to keep the clock speeds on the lower side, and even then the heatsink will become uncomfortably hot but once you add coolant you can open it up some and speeds of 50Gh/s+ should not be difficult to achieve. Tales of 100Gh/s+ are not uncommon.
Ofc, due to mining popularity, increases in difficulty etc even 200Gh/s would take a significant time to repay itself. Before accounting for running costs. This isn’t a get rich quick scheme by any measure, but it can reliably trickle in satoshi, mine an alt-coin, or just generally process BTC/BCH blockchain(s).
With a draw in the ballpark of about 10W per stick this could feasibly use renewable sources like solar and wind to nullify operating costs allowing for shorter return on investment.
Ideally combined in multiple with the GekkoScience USB hub to provide full power to each stick and I’ve found the Mining Fan Assembly with 120mm fan more than capable of dissipating any heat they’re capable of generating.
For anyone familiar with the previous generation of 2Pac sticks, these are the same but faster. Lights are in a slightly different place and a slightly different blue, and looks as if the BM1387’s are more symetricly fed. Running one of these NewPac will almost compete with running 2x 2Pac.

A Great little unit. Another of Sidehacks Master works, If your looking for someting thats set and forget with a Gui Config screen this is NOT the item for you. But if you like to Tinker and Tune these usb miners are a dream come true. There is a learning curve and be prepared to do some considerable reading on Bitcointalk but the work you put in more than pays off. If your going to play about with the Vcore get yourself an ACCURATE millivolt meter, most cheap milti meters float way to much and give wildly inaccurate reading. If your going to use a multimeter to play about with the Vcore then use a high quality one not some cheap garbage . If you get six or more of these and use a Gekko hub these miners are a very rewarding experience . I teach at a local Uni and Im going to be using several hundred of thse miners for my students to learn with. The learning curve isnt small by any means but if you put in the work it more than pays off and is an extremly rewarding experience. On a side note if your getting more than six and need mulripe Gekko hubs DONT daisy chain them you will run into notihing but drama. Plug each hub into a seperate port and use a high qiuality motherboard with more than one Usn controller chip. The Team at 419 mining is about as good as you can find anywhere, nothing is too much troulble and they go the extra mile for the customer that most people in this business would not even consider. An A++++++++ isnt enough of a rating for them. Do Buy of some fly buy nighter on amazon that grossly inflate the price, You will pay dearly for it Use 419 mining when ever you can

Excellent for making a small mining setup. They do not bin the chips, BUT I have gotten extremely lucky with 6 of my 8 Newpac miners. I’ve been able to get six of my eight to run at 130GHs. The other two run at 100GHs. Right now my small setup can get to a little over 1THs. I’ll be getting two more once they are back in stock. My ultimate goal is to create a set up that can breach 1THs consistently and only consume 140 watts or less.
